Dual Strikes for Microgaming’s WowPot Jackpot

WowPot Online Slots Pay Back to Back Jackpots in April

There are only two major attractions to playing live or online slot machines. The first is obvious – they’re fun! The entertainment value is incredible, especially when players seek out dynamic games revolving around themes they have a familiar connection with. The second is pretty obvious too. We play in hopes of winning money – preferably lots and lots of money! Slot machines are unlike most casino games, as they are capable of paying out prizes that are so much larger than the bet size. The highest payout for blackjack is generally 3 to 2, while the highest in roulette is 35 to 1. But the right slot machine can pay out a multi-million dollar jackpot for mere pocket change. That’s exactly what Microgaming’s WowPot Jackpot did this month – not once, but twice!

Slot machine jackpots aren’t the easiest things to win. The chance of unleashing a progressive prize on any slot is going to be no less than 1 in a million; often in the very high millions, akin to winning a national lottery. But they do strike, and unpredictably so. Their prizes come so randomly, it could be years between payouts. But that’s rarely the case for Microgaming’s progressive jackpots, which are known for unleashing their wealth within weeks, if not days, of each other.

The iGaming firm’s WowPot progressive, linked to four games in the WowPot network series, did just that.

Book of Atem WowPot Pays €17.5 Million

On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, the Book of Atem Online Slot paid its largest WowPot jackpot to date. The prize, which amounted to €17,529,047.11 (£15,183,085.96), didn’t just break a WowPot record. It marked the first ever “Mega win” for the WowPot progressive series.

That life-altering, 8-figure payout went to one very lucky member of 32Red Casino. While spinning the reels of the Book of Atem WowPot Slot for £0.80 per spin, the UK player struck gold, becoming the 93rd Euro millionaire in Microgaming’s progressive network history.

Congratulatory Statements for First WowPot Mega Winner

“What a phenomenal win – our third largest ever and the first Mega to drop on WowPot!” said Microgaming CEO John Coleman. “Congratulations to the winning player, and of course to 32Red and Kindred Group, who have been such brilliant partners of Microgaming over the years.”

UK General Manager, Neil Banbury, chimed in on behalf of Kindred Group. “We’re overjoyed for our player, first and foremost. Congrats on this incredible win! Well done to Microgaming, too, for delivering the industry’s leading range of progressive jackpot games. WowPot comes with a cracking set of games and is now on par with Mega Moolah as one of the big hitters.”

The €17.5 million jackpot demolished the WowPot’s previous record-high payout of €1,123,513.15, won as a “Major jackpot” payout in March 2021. Unbeknownst to the iGaming community, that payout was the covert signal that the WowPot was just heating up for some colossal prizes to come. Just days after the record progressive went out, a second Mega win was struck.

WowPot Strikes Again, €2m on Sherlock & Moriarty

Just 5 days later, on April 19, 2021, the WowPot paid out its second ever Mega jackpot prize. This time, it was a lucky player from Belgium who struck the €2,025,388.75 prize – now the second largest in WowPot history – while spinning the reels of the Sherlock & Moriarty WowPot Slot at Napoleon Sports & Casino. The fact that the Mega prize had climbed all the way back to €2 million in such a short time, shows just how popular the progressive online slots series has become.

More Congratulatory Statements for April’s Second Winner

“Remarkable to see a second hit on WowPot just days after the first!” said Microgaming’s CEO. “Sherlock & Moriarty is a beautifully crafted game by Just For The Win, and even though it launched network-wide less than a month ago, it has already awarded more than 58,000 wins across all jackpot tiers. My congratulations go to Napoleon and their player on this brilliant win.”

Napoleon Sports & Casino Online CEO, Tim De Borle, also commented on the historic win. “Our lucky player is on cloud nine and so are we! Jackpot games are an important and exciting asset in our portfolio, and we are delighted to have a great partner like Microgaming who provides these wonderful games. Let’s go for a new record.”

Online Slots in the WowPot Progressive Network

There are currently six online slot machines that boast the progressive WowPot Jackpot. One of them, African Legends, is only a partial member of the WowPot network, featuring only the Major progressive jackpot. The other five incorporate the same WowPot wheel Bonus, capable of leashing all four tiers of the WowPot progressive – Mini, Minor, Major and Mega. They include:

Book of Atem WowPot: The newer WowPot edition of Book of Atem was released in August 2020 by All41 Studios. It’s a 5×3 reel, 10-line video slot themed around the ancient temples of Egypt. It’s got a bet range of 0.1 to 25, a high variance, and an RTP of 93.% – not too bad for a progressive capable of paying out millions in a single spin.

Sisters of Oz WowPot: A spin-off of the creator’s immensely popular Book of Oz by Triple Edge Studios, Sisters of Oz is basically a feminine version of that game. Renowned for its vibrant, 3D graphics, and of course its progressive jackpot, the game features a 5×4 reel set, 20 betways, and a medium variance with a 92% RTP.

Wheel of Wishes: The original bearer of the WowPot, Wheel of Wishes made its way to Microgaming powered online casinos in February of last year. The game’s 5×3 reels and 10 betways are themed around wealth, and man’s everlasting desire to attain it. This one comes with a low variance, delivering smaller but more frequent wins around its 93.34% RTP.

Sherlock and Moriarty WowPot: Among the latest additions to the WowPot online slots series, Sherlock and Moriarty was unveiled in March 2021 by Just For The Win (JFTW). Themed around the iconic adventures of fictional sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, and his machiavellian nemesis, Professor Moriarty. Played across 5×3 reels and 20 paylines, this one carries a 92.1% RTP with medium volatility.

Queen of Alexandria WowPot: Neon Valley Studios produced this Egyptian beauty right alongside JFTW’s Sharlock and Moriarty, also releasing the new WowPot title in March of this year. Another 5×3 video slot with an oh-so-popular Egyptian pyramid theme, this one features 10 betways that pay in both directions, left to right and right to left. It’s 92.5% RTP runs on a medium variance.
