LeoVegas Launches In-House Games Studio

LeoVegas to build its own unique online casino games.

LeoVegas to Build Its Own Unique Online Casino GamesMobile casino giant LeoVegas made a monumental announcement on Monday. The Swedish company, which has consistently spread its virtual branches to operate in more and more segments of the online gambling industry, is doing so once more. This time, they’ll be expanding into the proprietary software field with the launch of Blue Guru Games. Opening their own digital gaming studio will allow LeoVegas to develop and host its own exclusive casino game content across each of their iGaming platforms.

Unique Online Casino Games Coming to LeoVegas

For many years, LeoVegas has taken advantage of bespoke gaming contracts; that is, negotiating special deals with major games developers to create exclusive online casino games just for their platform. It’s not just LeoVegas that’s been doing it, either. All the big-name brands have done it. But it’s an expensive route, and it only affords the buyer so much control over the content provided.

The executive team at LeoVegas AB in Stockholm put their heads together and decided there was a better way to g about installing exclusive games. With the help of their holdings sidekick, LeoVegas Ventures, they would start up a new business, designed to operate in a whole new division of iGaming.

“For a long time we have created exclusive games with the help of external providers, but now the time is right to take the step to do game development entirely on our own,” said LeoVegas Group CEO Gustaf Hagman in a press release.

“Drawing from our data and casino knowledge we will be able to drive innovation and create games that our customers truly enjoy. These may be everything from niche, local games for individual markets to broad international games,” he said.

Hagman goes on to explain the company’s intention to “create games and unique characters that can be used in our marketing, which will build stronger loyalty to our brands. Having great flexibility in producing games is a competitive advantage, and it will also give us a new revenue stream over time.”

Blue Guru Games Coming to LeoVegas in Late 2021

LeoVegas put a lot of time and effort into the launch of Blue Guru Games. Right out of the gate, the studio will open with a team of developers said to have more than 20 year experience in virtual gaming productions. Their mission – and yes, they have chosen to accept it – is to produce 20+ unique online casino games over the first 24 months in the office.

According to the press release, LeoVegas expects all of its new games to complement the games already offered on their platform, developed by a series of 60 other casino games developers. These include thousands of titles from leading studios like Microgaming, NetEnt, Playtech, Yggdrasil, and many, many more.

The launch of Blue Guru Games is just the most recent step in the group’s corporate business strategy to promote cost efficiency through controlling a greater share of their productions in the gaming industry. It’s the same strategic plan that saw LeoVentures investing in the CasinoGrounds streaming service and the Pixel.bet eSports betting operator, while LeoVegas was busy securing its foothold in the sports betting market with the acquisition of Expekt.
