Sit’n Go (SNG) jackpot tournaments have been popular for several years now. Most online poker rooms offer them in some form or fashion. They are a great way to turn a small bankroll into a huge payout in just a few minutes flat—with enough luck, of course.

I have a dawning suspicion that the popularity of SNG progressive jackpot poker tournaments is going to skyrocket even further following Microgaming’s latest announcement. According to Microgaming, the company’s Fish Party €20 jackpot SNG paid out a record prize of €317,849.78 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. The three players who took part in the Fish Party tournament all shared in the record-setting prize pool.

Microgaming’s SNG jackpot events take place across a network of the brand’s licensed casino operators. Thus, the tournament’s winners were not all competing from the same online poker room. Two were participating on the virtual felt of RedKings Poker, and the other from Betsson Poker.

The 1st place prize of €158,924.89 went to a RedKings player by the alias of ‘SipsCommin‘. Finishing in 2nd place was ‘Check_Norris‘ of Betsson, harvesting an impressive €95,354.93. Last but not least, ‘grndonlck‘, another RedKings member, scooped up the 3rd place prize of €63,569.96.

Not bad for a buy-in of €20 to pass the time on a casual mid-week evening!

22nd Payout for SNG Slots Jackpot

The Fish Party SNG—not to be confused with Microgaming’s similarly-named Fish Party Online Slot—is a progressive jackpot format introduced to MPN back in 2016. Months of tweaking based on customer critique led Mr. Scott and his tournament crew to deliver the format we experience now—one in which the rake equivalent is just 5.17% (including operator take and progressive contribution).

That’s a solid mark that any fan of progressive jackpot SNG poker tournaments can appreciate; especially compared to the original 10.17% rake (5% to operators, 5.17% to progressive) the format launched with.
