Review of Mobile Euchre 3D for Android & iOS

Euchre 3D: Top rated Euchre mobile app for Android and iOS.

Review of Mobile Euchre 3D for Android & iOSThere are at least 3 dozen ranked Euchre card game apps on Google Play, and even more in the Apple iTunes Store. Some have been downloaded by over a million users, gaining popularity ratings of anywhere from 0 to 4.8 stars. The one we’ll be looking at today just so happens to be the most downloaded and top-rated Euchre app for both Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.

Those facts speak volumes towards its presumed worth. But what’s the game really like? What features does it offer, and does it lag, freeze up or crash? How’s the AI gaming compare to online play against real people? These are all questions I aim to answer today in the following…

Review of Euchre 3D for Android and iOS

Euchre 3D: The top rated Euchre mobile app for Android and iOS devices.

Euchre 3D is the brainchild of A Star Software LLC, a development lab that specializes in transforming the world’s most popular card games into digital apps for all major operating systems. According to their description:

Euchre 3D has been in development for years by a dedicated team and has seen countless new features, improvements, and bug fixes. It’s fast, stable, always improving, and, above all, fun!”

In my experience, they’ve hit most of its finer points in that statement. Euchre 3D is definitely fast and stable. It has many great features, and is a lot of fun for fans of the game. I’ll expand more on that in a moment, but first, let’s take a look at the specs from Google Play and Apple Store.

Mobile Euchre 3D Features & Game Play

Euchre Mobile App for Android and iOSThis game has stunning graphics, utilizing a vibrant range of colors to keep it crisp and clean. All functions are simple and self-explanatory. Before you select Single Player or Multi Player, tap on Options and choose your favorite rules. You can set it up for Canadian Euchre Rules by turning on Canadian Loner and Stick the Dealer. You can also tweak your partner’s trump-calling strategy, with a strategic range of “very conservative” up to “aggressive”.

The help section has a convenient ‘How to Play‘ section to teach you the rules or refresh your memory. There’s also a ‘Popular Questions‘ section here that does just that – answers a lot of common questions, like whether the deals are truly random, if the computers can cheat, and why the Shark (your partner) makes so many dumb moves (sometimes).

These really are the most common complaints about the game, and I have to agree that in AI (single player versus computer) mode, being dealt a good hand is extremely rare, even when the difficulty is set to “normal”. For practice, it’s alright, but the single player mode just doesn’t feel as random as ‘the real deal’.

On the other hand, playing against real people is quite an experience. Most of them are very good, so be prepared. Practice using basic Euchre strategy in Single Player before you attempt to take these people on. Some people tend to get boisterously angry in the chat if you’re not pulling your weight.

To keep things interesting, both iOS and Android Euchre games come with statistics, player rankings (multi-player only) and Achievements. You can keep up with your progress, play against equally talented people, and earn some nice badges for accomplishing a wide range of tasks.

All in all, I have to agree that this mobile Euchre app is worthy of its supremely high rating. It’s obvious that its creators take the time to listen to user feedback, and are dedicated to consistent improvements, updating the apps at least once every 1-3 months.
