Under the Hood: Benefits of Flexepin Prepaid Deposits

No Bank Account? No Problem – Prepaid Flexepin Voucher Casinos Review

No Bank Account? No Problem - Prepaid Flexepin Voucher Casinos ReviewFlexepin isn’t the oldest payment solution on the market, but it is among the most technologically advanced. The fin-tech company was established by Australia’s Novatti Group in 2015. It sells prepaid vouchers online and in-store that give customers a safe way to use cash for online purchases. Flexepin is especially popular among people who either don’t have a bank account or credit card, or would prefer not to share the details of their financial accounts online.

Flexepin is especially popular among Canada’s online gaming and gambling community. Vouchers can be bought with cash at retail locations all over the country. Or, they can be bought online and paid for with cash at your local Canada Post. Paying with Interac or a debit card is also an option, of course, but again – no bank account, problem!

As an avid online gambler, I find Flexepin to be extremely convenient at times, but it also has some drawbacks. I’ll talk about all of these features and more in the following review of Flexepin for casino deposits.

Flexepin Voucher Casinos – Just the FAQs

I’ll start with a brief Q&A section that answers a lot of common questions. Just below the FAQ is a Pros/Cons segment. These combined should give you an idea of whether Flexepin vouchers are right for you.

Where can I buy a Flexepin Voucher in Canada?

Dozens of big-name retailers sell prepaid Flexepin gift cards and vouchers. From Daisy Mart to Hasty Market, and a plethora of convenient stops like Esso, Gas+ and Mobile, sell Flexepin. You can also buy them online at authorized retailers. We suggest TopMeUp.ca, as it allows you to buy online and pay in person at your nearest post office.

Who owns/issues Flexepin prepaid cards and vouchers?

Flexepin is a fin-tech company owned and operated by Flexewallet, a subsidiary of Australian-based Novatti Group.

Do a lot of online casinos accept Flexepin?

Not really, no, but the numbers have been growing in recent years. The good news is that the majority of Flexepin casinos accept Canadian customers. An early adopter of Flexepin payments is Royal Vegas Casino, one of my personal favorites. If you don’t have a personal favorite of your own, I do recommend it.

Are Flexepin casino payments safe?

Absolutely! Flexepin vouchers allow users to make purchases and casino deposits online without divulging any financial info. You don’t even need a bank account or credit card to buy or use one. So long as you follow the 5 Golden Rules of Flexepin safety, you have nothing to worry about.

Can I reload funds on a Flexepin card/voucher?

No. Flexepin vouchers are not reloadable.

What denominations are available, and what do they cost?

Flexepin can be purchased in a wide range of values, scaling from $20 to $500. In Canada, the “convenience fee” is relatively low compared to many other prepaid gift card options. It starts at $1.95 for a $20 voucher, and scales up to $15.95 for a $500 voucher.

As for the best value, a $20 voucher that charges $1.95 equates to a 9.75% fee. The $500 voucher, at $15.95, charges a 3.19% fee. That’s almost as good as it gets. The best Flexepin value comes with the $250 voucher, charging a 3.18% fee of $7.95.

Do I have to register an account to buy Flexepin vouchers?

Yes. In order to comply with government regulatory KYC/AML verification rules, users must register an account with Flexepin and verify their identity before purchasing and/or activating a voucher.

PRO TIP: When purchasing a Flexepin voucher, you’ll provide the email address associated with your registered Flexepin account. Online purchases will be sent to this email address. If your email address changes, or you can no longer access that email, be sure to update your Flexepin account info or you may not be able to retrieve your 16-digit PIN.

How do I check the balance on my Flexepin?

You can check your balance anytime on the Flexepin website. Tap Use Flexepin on the menu, then choose Check Balance. Enter your 16-digit PIN, check the ‘I’m not a robot‘ captcha box, then press Submit.

Do Flexepin gift cards expire?

Not exactly, no. The value of the voucher is infinite. However, it will print out with a Use By Date that lasts 12 months from the date of purchase. After 12 months, if the card hasn’t been used, a monthly maintenance fee will be taken from the balance.

According to the Flexepin T&C, the maintenance fee is: “£2 per month, or the equivalent amount in Euros or other currencies”. Considering Flexepin is a one-time-use voucher, so long as you don’t misplace it, that fee should never kick in anyway.

Security of Flexepin & How to Avoid Scams

Official Flexepin vouchers are extremely secure. Most users buy them with cash, so there’s no possible way for personal or financial data to be compromised. Flexepin does require users to register an account, divulging name, address, date of birth, and a valid photo ID, but it’s only for regulatory purposes. That information is never shared or sold, and the website is certified secure.

The only thing users really have to worry about is falling for a scam. To prevent any type of fraud or theft, the company offers safety tips they call the 5 Golden Rules to protect your money. They include the following:

Flexepin’s 5 Golden Security Rules
  1. When in Doubt, Check with Flexepin
    • If you’re ever uncertain of anything, whether it’s buying, redeeming, or anything suspicious in between, contact Flexepin. Live chat is available on the website 24/7.
  2. Watch Out for Fakes
    • Sadly, there are lots of fake Flexepin merchants out there just waiting to steal your money. Never give your 16-digit PIN out over the phone. Only use it on websites that are authorized Flexepin partners. If you’re not sure, copy the website URL and enter it here: Authorized Flexepin Merchant Checker
  3. Use on Secure Websites Only
    • A secure website will have a padlock symbol on the left side of the URL bar, and the URL will begin with HTTPS://. It must also be an authorized partner of Flexepin (see Rule #2 above).
  4. Keep your 16-Digit PIN to Yourself
    • Never tell anyone your 16-digit PIN. Do not share any information about your Flexepin voucher(s) with any third party. Even if you contact Flexepin support, you will never be asked to share the PIN; only the Serial Number. If anyone asks for your 16-digit PIN, you can assume it’s a scam.
  5. Treat Flexepin Vouchers Like Cash
    • A Flexepin voucher is pretty much the same as cash, so you should treat it as such. You would protect a $100 bill by keeping it in a safe place. Telling your PIN to someone is the same as handing them cash. If you don’t want to give away your money, don’t give out your PIN.

Where and How to Buy Flexepin in Canada

Flexepin cash vouchers are sold in thousands of in-store retail locations, but only in Australia and Canada. Consider yourself lucky, because the rest of the world can only purchase them online, and not with cash. Not only are Canadians privy to in-store purchasing, we can even pre-purchase a voucher online at TopMeUp.ca, then pay for it with cash at the nearest Canada Post Office.

The Price of Flexepin Gift Cards & Vouchers

Flexepin vouchers can be purchased in a wide range of denominations. The following chart details all available values and their respective ‘convenience fees’. I’m also listing the total cost (value+fee), as well as the mark-up percentage. The lower the mark-up, the better the deal. For example, the best value is the $250 Flexepin, as it comes with the lowest fee mark-up of 3.18%.

Note that the size of the convenience fee in Canada is set by Flexepin, not individual retailers. If the price is different than what you see below, either our website is out of date, or the merchant you’re shopping with is not an authorized dealer. See the 5 Golden Security Rules above to make sure it’s not the latter.

How to Deposit at Flexepin Casinos

Flexepin deposits are super easy. All you need is a Flexepin voucher, and an account with an online casino that accepts Flexepin deposits. See the step-by-step instructions below for a complete walkthrough.

Important Note about Anonymity and KYC/AML Verification

Flexepin provides users with a semi-anonymous prepaid payment service. Although buyers can purchase Flexepin with cash, the gift card/voucher is linked back to the user’s identity at some point. Flexepin requires users to register an account on its website. This requirement fulfills the company’s regulatory Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering (KYC/AML) obligations. When purchasing Flexepin, you’ll provide the email associated with the account. The voucher is sent digitally to the email.

Many online casinos require similar KYC/AML obligations. Because Flexepin prepaid cards and vouchers are already KYC-verified, online casinos will accept them with further verification needs. However, the user information for the casino account must match that of the Flexepin card or voucher. If the names and addresses don’t match, the payment may be declined.

Flexepin Casino Deposits – Step by Step
  1. Purchase a Flexepin voucher, online or in-store, from any authorized retailer.
  2. Log in to the online casino and make your way to the Banking section.
  3. Choose Flexepin from the list of deposit options.
  4. Enter the voucher’s 16-digit PIN in the input box provided.
  5. Enter the amount you wish to deposit (must be the full value of the voucher) and submit.

If you’ve followed all the directions correctly, your casino account should be credited instantly.

Troubleshooting

If you’re experiencing problems, try one of these solutions…

  • Does the deposit amount match the value of the Flexepin card or voucher? These are single-use vouchers. The full and exact value – no more, no less – must be used at the time of deposit.
  • Are you depositing in the same currency, or is the online casino trying to convert your purchase into a foreign currency? Converting currencies will incur an exchange rate fee that could increase the cost of the deposit above the value of the voucher. Adjust your deposit amount to allow enough leeway to cover the fee.

Flexepin Casino Withdrawals – Is it an Option?

Unfortunately, no. While Flexepin voucher casinos are happy to accept this method for deposits, cashouts simply are not possible. Flexepin’s prepaid products are not reloadable. They can only be used for a single purchase, after which they expire. You’ll need to find a different way to cash out casino winnings.
