This review isn’t going to cover every single aspect of the new Trolls Bridge II online slot machine – not because it isn’t worthy, but because I simply don’t have that kind of time! Yggdrasil’s design team infused this game with more features than any title before it. With that said, let’s take a quick, cursory glance under the hood.

The new version increases the reels from 5×3 to 5×4, and the paylines from 20 to 25 fixed ways to line up a winning combo. If you look close, the entire reel grid is actually the draw bridge of a dark and foreboding castle. The object of the game isn’t just to line up wins, but to open the gate, triggering the game’s free spins, wherein lies a dozen features that can be activated.

There are only 8 standard symbols in the game. The higher paying variety are warrior trolls of various shapes and sizes. The lower ones are the usual playing card suits. Those trolls can appear as colossal symbols at any time, spanning up to 2×4 positions.

In addition to those are four different wild symbols. The Regular Wild can appear in the base game or bonus game, doing the usual job of replacing other standard symbols to help create a win. The Troll Wild appears during free games, turning one of the trolls into an extra wild symbol. The Random Wild also appears in free games only, turning one random symbol, high or low, into a wild for the duration of the feature. The Colossal Wild, again appearing only in free games, spans 2×2 and 2×4 positions to instigate huge wins.

Those last three wilds are all potential ‘Feature Picks’ that can trigger when free games are triggered.

Trolls Bridge II Feature Picks

To trigger them, players need to see at least 3 Free Spins troll skulls land on the reels in any position. The more scatters that trigger the bonus, the more spins and feature picks the player gets, as follows:

• 3 Scatters awards 6 free spins with 3 feature picks.
• 4 Scatters awards 8 free spins with 4 feature picks.
• 5 Scatters awards 10 free spins with 5 feature picks.

Players also have the option to wager 10 additional coins per spin to gain +1 feature pick if and when free spins are triggered. There are a dozen different feature picks that can be activated, including the three feature wilds detailed above, along with a variety of other things that all have great potential to produce big wins.

The Bonus Cauldron, for example, can appear on the last reel, churning out two additional feature picks. It can also land in the base game, with random effects that can range from nothing at all, up to paying out 1250 coins.
