Microgaming’s Village People Slot Machine Goes Live Monday
Microgaming to launch highly anticipated Village People Macho Moves Slot.
Just over a year ago today, Microgaming made the announcement that it had secured a licensing deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to produce the world’s very first branded Village People slot machine. Being the most iconic disco band of the 1970s, the response was overwhelmingly positive.
Then in February of this year, the Isle of Man-based iGaming production company teased us with a bit more info. They issued a few early production screenshots, and announced that the task of building this highly anticipated new game had been assigned to one of their premier independent content producers, Fortune Factory Studios.
A release date was tentatively set for June 2019. Now that the foretold month has arrived, we finally have an exact date when the Village People Online Slot will go live, and it’s just around the corner!
Village People Macho Moves Slot coming June 24
Fortune Factory’s hard work will come to fruition on Monday when the new Village People slot goes live at Microgaming casinos. While we haven’t had a chance to play the game just yet, a plethora of details, screenshots and a teaser promo video have been made available, answering all of our intended questions.
Village People: Macho Moves is a 6×3 reel slot machine with 15 paylines and a bet range of $0.20 to $25 per spin, capable of delivering a max payout of 146,125 coins. It’s compatible with all major desktop, mobile and tablet operating systems and is equipped with a 96% RTP and medium variance for balanced payouts and win frequency.
The game packs all of the celebrated musical group’s greatest hits into the VP Jukebox, including billboard toppers like Can’t Stop the Music, In the Navy, Macho Man, YMCA and more. All of our favorite singing characters are present, rendered in fabulous caricature style; the construction worker, cowboy, police officer, chief, biker and sailor.
The game’s symbols include memorabilia from the era, like platform shoes, 8-track cartridges, record albums and more. There are two types of wilds – standard Wilds and VP Wilds. Both substitute for other standard symbols to line up winning combinations, but VP Wilds have another use, helping to trigger the game’s six bonus features.
Village People Bonus Features
Each of the six Village People characters dance atop a reel. When a VP Wild Token appears on a reel, it is collected in the progress meter for the character who stands above it. It takes 5 tokens to fill a progress meter. When full above a reel, that character’s special VP Bonus Feature is activated.
Construction Worker: Player receives 5 Free Spins with Random Multipliers. For each spin, the random multiplier scroller pops up and chooses a new rate at which to multiply all wins for that spin, ranging from 2x to 20x.
Cowboy: Player receives 5 Free Spins with Random Wilds. A series of wilds will appear on the reels in random positions before each spin takes place.
Police Officer: Player receives 5 Free Spins with Random Wild Reels. Before each spin, 1 or more reels will randomly turn wild.
Chief: Player receives 5 Free Spins with Walking Wild Reels. On the first spin, reels 5 and 6 are wild. For each spin, the two wild reels move left one space, ending on the final spin at reels 1 and 2 to guarantee at least two big payouts on spins 4 and 5.
Biker: Player receives 5 Free Spins with Symbol Upgrades. Before each spin, a symbol scroller appears to determine what high-paying symbol all playing card suits will turn into.
Sailor: Player receives 5 Free Spins with Locking Wilds. Every spin, at least 1 random wild will appear before the spin takes place. Each wild will lock into place and remain until the feature ends.
