Sizing Up Fugaso’s Blackjack Neon Rules & RTP

How to Play Neon Classic Blackjack by Fugaso.

How to Play Neon Classic Blackjack – It's Cool, It's Purple, It's Fugaso!

Neon Classic Blackjack is one of two basic 21 variations to come out of Fugaso studios. The other is a Neon Single Deck. Both of those game rules are also available in the comedic graphic stylings of Donald Trump (Trump It Classic and Trump It Single Deck). Other than the graphics, they are the same games. And it makes sense, because the unique graphics of all Fugaso-built blackjack games are the only thing that really makes them stand out.

On the whole, Fugaso’s Neon Classic is a pretty standard game of blackjack, except that its theoretical return to player (RTP) is far lower than the “good online game” average of 99.65%. You’ll compete against a house edge of 0.67% (RTP 99.33%), and that’s only if you apply perfect strategy (see below).

With that being said, I’m not going to spend too much time teaching you the ropes for this game. Yes, it can be entertaining, especially if you love the color purple and vibrant, neon edges to your cards. Otherwise, I can’t really recommend playing this one.

How to Play Neon Classic Blackjack

This is a simple game of blackjack in all respects. There are no optional side bets, and the interface is very straight forward. The house rules for player and dealer hands are as follows:

Specific Rules of Play

  • Decks: 8
  • Soft 17: Dealer Hits
  • Doubling: Yes, on any 2 cards
  • Splitting: Yes, 1x only
  • Double after Split: Yes
  • Resplit Aces: No
  • Draw to Split Aces: No
  • Surrender: No
  • Dealer Checks for Blackjack: Yes
  • Blackjack Pays: 3 to 2

Blackjack Neon Strategy

Following the basic strategy below will grant you the highest possible RTP of 99.33% (house edge 0.67%). The strategy chart is split into three sections – hard hands, soft hands, and pairs. Use the chart that matches your hand type, and choose the play that corresponds with your total and the dealer’s up-card.

How to Decide a Hard Hand

Hard totals will not contain an Ace that can be counted as 11 points. The strategy for all hard total player hands are as follows:

Hard Total Correct Action by Situation
8 & Under Hit
9 Double against Dealer’s 3-6; otherwise Hit
10 Double against Dealer’s 2-9; otherwise Hit
11 Double
12 Stand against Dealer’s 4-6; otherwise Hit
13-16 Stand against Dealer’s 2-6; otherwise Hit
17-21 Stand

How to Decide a Soft Hand

Soft totals will contain an Ace that is counted as 11 points. The strategy for all soft total player hands are as follows:

Soft Total Correct Action by Situation
13-14 Double against Dealer’s 5-6; otherwise Hit
15-16 Double against Dealer’s 4-6; otherwise Hit
17 Double against Dealer’s 3-6; otherwise Hit
18 Double against Dealer’s 2-6; Stand against 7-8; otherwise Hit
19 Double against Dealer’s 6; otherwise Stand
20-21 Stand

Conditions for Splitting Pairs

Splitting pairs is a great way to maximize your win rate, but only when the probabilities are in your favor. This last chart shows how to play Neon Classic Blackjack when dealt a pair. Note that you can only split your hand once. If you split and receive another pair worthy of splitting, refer to the applicable chart above for hard or soft totals.

Pair Correct Action by Situation
Ace-Ace Split
2-2 Split on dealer’s 2-7; otherwise Hit
3-3 Split on dealer’s 2-7; otherwise Hit
4-4 Split on dealer’s 5-6; otherwise Hit
5-5 Double on dealer’s 2-9; otherwise Hit
6-6 Split on dealer’s 2-6; otherwise Hit
7-7 Split on dealer’s 2-7; otherwise Hit
8-8 Split
9-9 Split on dealer’s 2-6 or 8-9; otherwise Stand
10-10 Stand
