Skill On Net Dives Headlong into Ontario

Four New Ontario Live Casino & RNG Gambling Sites Gain iGO Licence

Four New Ontario Live Casino & RNG Gambling Sites Gain iGO LicenceIt’s been just over two months since the launch of Ontario’s competitive online gambling market. Kicking off on April 4, 2022, the iGaming scene debuted with an impressive total of 17 websites. Online sports betting, casino games, and virtual poker tables were, for the first time, available to Ontario residents from locally-licenced commercial operators. Within a few weeks, the number of active licencees was up to 24.

Today, we’re happy to report an additional boost in competition as four more domain names join the mix. Each of them is operating under the capable wing of some of the oldest iGaming production companies in the business.

4 New Ontario Live Casino & RNG Gambling Sites

Last week, four new online casinos earned right of passage into Canada’s largest digital gambling market. They include:

  • ComeOn Casino
  • Play OJO
  • Slots Magic
  • Spin Genie

ComeOn! Sportsbook and Casino from Bunchberry Ltd

If you haven’t heard of ComeOn!, it’s understandable. It’s not exactly a big name in North America. However, ComeOn is a long-standing member of the iGaming industry. It’s been a popular brand across Europe since 2010. Originating in Stockholm, Sweden, the company has since relocated its head office to St. Julians, Malta. Under its new Ontario licence, ComeOn will offer members of the province’s iGaming community fresh sportsbook and casino products, complete with live betting and live table games action.

How does ComeOn intend to grab the attention of an audience that already has so much to choose from? In their own words:

We’re here to blaze a trail of betting brilliance and we want you to come along for the ride. We’re excited to give you the best and we shout about our offers from the rooftops. We’ve even got an exclamation mark in our name for goodness sake!”

If that’s not a convincing argument, I don’t know what is…

Skill On Net Dives Headlong into Ontario

The three remaining domains to join the market are all tributories of one of the industry’s oldest production groups, Skill On Net. Online since 2005, this iGaming studio has more than 3,000 casino games in its inventory; slot machines, table games, instant wins, specialties, and more. Its portfolio draws both from in-house productions, as well as an impressive regiment of major games developers and smaller independent studios. These collaborations contribute to the diversity of Skill On Net-powered casinos.

Unlike so many competitors, especially in the Canadian market, Skill On Net does not operate any other gambling verticals. Its sole focus is on classic RNG and live-action casino games. Its partners enjoy a full suite of back-end services, as well, including state-of-the-art support, payment solutions, casino management tools, licence coverage, and regulatory compliance.

A Quick Look at Skill On Net’s Ontario Brands

SpinGenie Casino was launched in the UK in 2014 by Bear Group Ltd, before Skill On Net scooped it up in 2020. Members are privy to a vast collection of more than 1,500 games from developers like Microgaming, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger, and Big Time Gaming.

PlayOJO Casino is the newest in the bunch, joining Skill On Net in 2016. It was quickly recognized as one of the fastest-growing iGaming sites in the business, winning multiple awards in its first year; (EGR Awards Rising Star, MiGA Casino Operator of the Year 2017). PlayOJO has been riding that expeditious inaugural wave ever since.

Slots Magic Casino is the oldest operation to join Ontario’s market in June; even older than you might realize. This Skill On Net brand went live in 2014, but was a relaunch of an even older brand, Jackpot Party. Out of the gate in 2010, that old domain was a huge hit with players. In fact, the transition wasn’t exactly welcome by the majority of its original members. But Skill On Net was quick to listen and take action. A series of improvements upon its original redesign brought the community back with open arms. It’s now one of the largest operations in the parent company’s sizable portfolio of gambling sites.

What Took Skill On Net So Long to Launch?

If you’ve been following the headlines, you may remember the province’s main licensing body, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), granted Skill On Net an operator’s license back at the beginning of May. That approval came with the ability to launch not one, not two, but three online gaming sites in Ontario.

Two of the websites had already been determined; SpinGenie and SlotsMagic. The third licence went directly to Skill On Net, giving it the right to choose the third operation. We heard nothing from the iGaming company since – that is, until last week.

Presumably, Skill On Net had a number of tasks to complete before officially launching its new Ontario live casino and RNG gambling sites. First and foremost, they had to select the third domain from a very long list of candidates; one that would appeal to the Canadian population as well as it has European communities. Second, and most importantly, all three of the sites had to undergo intense scrutiny to ensure they are up to snuff, so to speak.

The AGCO and its regulatory monitoring agency, iGaming Ontario (iGO), have very strict laws in place. Compliance is mandatory to operate in the province, and it’s something they take very seriously. Just weeks into the market launch, the Enforcement Bureau of the AGCO slapped two operators with fines for failure to abide by its high standards. BetMGM had to pay $48,000, and PointsBet $30,000, relating to the illegal advertisement of promotional campaigns.

Ontario Authorized Gambling Sites Now at 28 and Counting

This latest addition to the growing number of licencees brings the current total of online sportsbooks, casinos, and poker rooms in Ontario to 28. Visit the following link to learn more about the efforts of the AGCO and iGO, and view a complete list of all actively licensed gambling sites. We make every effort to keep this list current with updates no less than once a week.
