LeoVegas Casino Betting on Acquisition of Push Gaming

Lock, Stock & Barrel: MGM-owned LeoVegas Buys Push Gaming Software

What does every worldwide casino corporation need to improve profits in today’s technological age? Why, an equally successful online casino, of course! And what would help cut costs and boost profits for that online casino? A proprietary software brand to supply games could certainly help. Such is the path of one globally-renowned gambling group.

Last year, MGM Resorts International turned heads with its acquisition of LeoVegas, one of the most successful internet gambling domains of the 21st century. Now, the focus seems to be on growing digital products. Earlier this year, MGM announced an agreement for its new subsidiary, LeoVegas, to acquire iGaming software studio Push Gaming.

Thus completes the global gambling corporation’s full circle into online and on-land operations.

LeoVegas Casino Acquires Push Gaming Software

Following a wildly triumphant launch in 2012, LeoVegas Mobile Casino remains one of the biggest online operators to date. Its initial success was driven by a mobile-centric approach in a time when smartphones and tablets were just becoming household items. The continuation of its prominent position is attributed to two primary factors. First is a consistently attractive promotional campaign. Second is the sheer abundance of games; thousands of titles from a plethora of software studios.

One thing LeoVegas has not put much focus on throughout the years is a collection of bespoke games. Having your own branded slot machines and blackjack tables is something only the most elite gambling websites offer. No doubt LeoVegas had this in mind when it made the strategic decision to acquire a majority stake in Push Gaming.

I say strategic because Push Gaming is just what LeoVegas needs to achieve bespoke recognition in its games portfolio. Push Gaming is not a large studio by any means. Its product suite spans less than three dozen titles to date. However, the games this company produces are of exquisite quality, built to entertain players first and foremost. They are so popular with the global iGaming community that more than 200 operators employ the platform.

LeoVegas is not only capitalizing on the immense popularity of Push Gaming titles, but its ability to continue producing equally entertaining products for LeoVegas Casino.

Pushing the Limits of Excellence

The heads of MGM and LeoVegas are expressing sheer delight over this exciting new development. Gary Fritz, President of MGM Resorts International Interactive, describes the strategy behind their latest procurement.

The acquisition of Push Gaming by LeoVegas is consistent with our vision to expand MGM Resorts’ digital gaming presence internationally to grow our capabilities and products over the next several years,” said Fritz in a statement. “We are pleased to bring Push Gaming into our business as it brings a track record of developing games that are popular and have staying power in the industry as well as an exceptional management and operating team.”

Gustaf Hagman is the founder of LeoVegas Mobile Group, heading up its leadership as CEO from day one. His depiction of Push Gaming’s growth is not unlike that of his own company’s impressive journey.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Push Gaming to our extended family,” Hagman reports. “The management team at Push Gaming has had a phenomenal journey, quickly growing the company from a small start-up to a player with outstanding proprietary content and a strong customer base. We look forward to contributing to their continued success moving forward.”

Under the Hood at Push Gaming

Push Gaming is a company that specializes in the production of internet gambling software. The studio was founded in 2010 with the primary goal of creating new and exciting games that appeal to the masses. “Ultimate entertainment” is the mission. The designers says they achieve this by merging “engaging” themes and “unique and captivating” features, with “stunning and precise” art.

These aren’t just words cleverly scripted to sell a product. The digital slot machines produced by Push Gaming live up to the description, time and again. It’s why the  production line seems to move so slow. Push Gaming doesn’t care about mass production. It’s employees aren’t working an assembly line. Each person has a role to play, and is encouraged to take their time. In short, Push Gaming represents the ideology of quality over quantity.

Second Digital Rodeo for MGM Resorts Intl

The acquisition of LeoVegas in September 2022 didn’t put MGM Resorts on an entirely new path. The casino conglomerate has been operating in the digital space for some years now. Its self-named domain, BetMGM, launched in 2018. However, the target audience for BetMGM is and has always been the sports betting community. BetMGM does host an online casino, but the name, as well as a munificent marketing campaign, point directly to a sportsbook brand.

LeoVegas is for the online casino community what BetMGM is for sports bettors. It is a brand that exudes an aura of casino entertainment. Everyone thinks of casino gambling when they hear the word Vegas, and the brand’s global marketing campaign, led by its mascot, Leo the Lion, foretells the operator to be ‘King of Casino‘.

Together, the BetMGM and LeoVegas brands aim to conquer the iGaming industry all across North America. Both brands command a vast audience throughout the United States and Canada alike; especially in Ontario, where the iGaming market has taken off like a rocket. Since April 2022, iGaming Ontario has welcomed more than 70 iGO licensed operators – online casinos, sportsbooks and poker rooms – into the fold. BetMGM and LeoVegas were both among first operators to join, launching their respective gaming software on day one.
