Quick comparison of Indiana mobile sports betting apps reviewed.
Indiana’s digital sports betting market is flourishing rapidly. Since August 2019, a total of 10 licensed online sportsbooks have gone live. Most of them – 9 out of those 10 – went on to launch Indiana mobile sportsbook apps. Continue reading to learn which operators do and don’t offer a mobile app for Android and/or iOS, and how they stack up against one another when comparing the quintessential features.
Indiana Mobile Sports Betting Apps – Smoke if Ya Got’em!
|
We’re going to kick this off with a quick chart of all IN sportsbook operators, detailing which ones offer in-browser betting (computer and mobile) and downloadable mobile apps for Android and/or iOS. Click any operator name below to jump straight to its mobile app review. Be sure to read the important notes below for Android, iOS, and both. You will run into restrictions no matter which mobile OS you’re using.
Important Note for Android Users: Google does not permit real money gambling apps of any kind in its US-facing app store. If you’re looking to download an Android sportsbook app, you won’t find any on the Google Play Store. The APK file must be downloaded directly from the website of the sportsbook operator. You can also find them on third-party websites, but we strongly advise against it. You should only download Android mobile apps from trusted sources. Indiana sportsbooks are strictly regulated, and their direct download links 100% secure.
Important Note for Apple iOS Users: You’ll be glad to know the Apple App Store proudly supports U.S. licensed gambling apps. You’ll find all of the iOS sportsbook apps detailed below in its app store. However, you’ll need to download a geolocation app in order to prove you’re in Indiana and place a bet. Unlike Android devices, Apple’s iPhones and iPads do not come with geolocation services pre-installed. The app you’ll need is GeoGuard Location Validator, and it does just that; provides location data to sportsbooks to validate that the user is, in fact, physically located in the correct state. The good news is that this same app works for all Indiana iOS sportsbooks, as well as operating those in most other U.S. states.
Common Complaint – Full Login Required: By far the most common complaint by all Android and iOS mobile app users is the constant need to login with your full email/username and password. Every time you open the app, you’ll need to enter this info. Every time an app freezes or logs you out due to inactivity (usually 20 minutes), you’ll have to completely log back in. Due to local laws, you cannot save your login details. Apple users can’t use their handy little Touch ID either.

BetAmerica Mobile Sports App – N/A
|
BetAmerica promotes itself as a “Desktop Only ” sportsbook. You can access the mobile edition of the website from any smartphone or tablet, but you won’t be able to place a bet. BetAmerica published this comment on its Facebook page on December 30, 2019. To date, no additional information has been published.

BetMGM Mobile Sportsbook App
|
The BetMGM mobile app is available for download on Android devices (link on website) and iOS devices (via Apple Store). A link to the Android app won’t appear until you sign up an account, so don’t bother searching for it beforehand. Once you get the app installed, you’ll find it works almost exactly the same as the website. It’s nothing fancy, but is easy to navigate, and has been stable and reliable since a late-2019 update. More recently, individual state apps were merged into one app, so you’ll need to choose your state each time before you log in.

BetRivers IN Mobile Sports App
|
BetRivers Android app is renowned for being one of the best in the country. Unfortunately, its iOS app has not garnered the same reputation. Therefore, I’ll review them separately…
BetRivers Android app has been in development for years, starting with the brand’s appearance in New Jersey in 2016 (PlaySugarHouse). It’s fast, smooth, user friendly, and has one of the largest sports market varieties in the business. The mobile experience almost perfectly parallels the browser experience.
BetRivers iOS app is nothing like its Android cousin – at least, not yet. While it looks the same – same buttons, same features, same sports and promos – the functionality doesn’t compare. Launched in mid 2020, RSI pushed this app into shelves long before it was ready. Following a multitude of bug fixes and performance improvements, it’s getting better, but developers still have work to do before this version lives up to the BetRivers name.

Caesars Online Mobile App
|
Caesars is a household name in America, harvesting great respect from Atlantic City, to Las Vegas, and everywhere in between. It’s mobile app, however, fails to impress. The user interface can’t compete with many of its rivals. Some of the most common complaints we’ve heard, and experienced ourselves, relate to the app refreshing every time you try to scroll up, and the links for pairing your mobile and land-based Caesars Rewards accounts not working properly.

DraftKings Sports Mobile App
|
First things first – the iOS mobile app logo (shown right) is misleading. Mobile casino games are not available in Indiana – they’re illegal. But when you click the iOS app link from the Indiana website, this is what you’ll see in the Apple Store. Aside from this, the DraftKings app is one of the best out there. It’s easy to understand, easy to see, and very easy to navigate. It’s also got the largest sports variety in Indiana. If you’re into Volleyball, this is the only place to bet on it. However, don’t expect to get the sports ball rolling just because you already have a DFS account with DraftKings. You’ll need to download a separate app, and sign up another account, as your deposits must be segregated.

FanDuel Sports Mobile App
|
For all who think FanDuel and DraftKings are different sides of the same coin, here’s proof that it’s not true. FanDuel has a far smaller variety of sports betting markets than it’s long-time DFS rival; only 13 compared to DK’s 18. Then again, at least they were smart enough not to put the word “casino” on their universal U.S. mobile app logo. That’s about where the differences stop. FanDuel’s app is a fantastic one, in terms of easy UI and straight-forward navigation. Plus, it was developed by decades-old iGaming software giant, Betfair. But again, don’t choose FanDuel just because you have a DFS account with them. They are separate apps, requiring separate accounts and balances.

PointsBet Mobile App
|
There’s honestly not a lot to brag about when it comes to PointsBet. Most other apps are superior in a multitude of ways. However, there are two things PointsBet users have access to that no one else does. First is bet son the ‘Entertainment’ category. If you’re into awards ceremonies and reality TV , this could be a game changer. Second is the operator’s distinct ‘Points Betting’ system. Unlike traditional sports betting (which they also offer), Points Betting is based on spread and totals betting, where the number of points over or under determines the multiplier on your win or loss. Let’s say you bet an NBA game will end with ‘Over 180 points’. The game ends with 195 total points. You don’t just win the bet – you win 15x the bet. The danger is that, if the total ends at 170, you lose 15x your bet.

theScore Mobile Betting App
|
Do not confuse “theScore” mobile app with “theScore Bet” mobile app. One is the original sports news app, and offers no form of real money betting. The other is the mobile sports betting app, legal in Indiana. Score Bet is the only sportsbook in the state that only offers its wager services via mobile apps. The website – like the original app – is for sports news only. While the betting app itself does function very well, you won’t find too many betting markets to choose from. Score Bet only supports wagers on the five (listed below). If that’s all you want, theScore Bet is all you’ll need.

Unibet IN Mobile App
|
Unibet has been in operation for more than 20 years, earning a reputation as a premier international iGaming supplier. They’ve brought the same quality to the US market, delivering an Android and iOS mobile sports app that is as reliable as it is user-friendly. Everything you need is easy to find, bets are simple, and promotions are honored. The only people we would not recommend Unibet Indiana to are those who live outside the state, but commute regularly. Most Indiana sportsbooks allow members to access all basic services, except betting of course, from outside Indiana. Unibet, on the other hand, does not allow users to enjoy basic features, like accessing the cashier or viewing bet results, unless they are physically located in the state.

William Hill Sportsbook Mobile App
|
William Hill is the world’s oldest sportsbook, and claims to be the largest in America. We can’t verify or disprove that claim, but we do know it’s favored by a lot of U.S. bettors – especially those who previously accessed international sportsbooks before the legal climate changed over a decade ago. this brand’s experience shows in the development of a full-feature, easily navigable mobile app for iOS and Android. However, the range of sports is truncated compared to their rivals. Like their international colleagues at Unibet, William Hill won’t let you access any of its basic features while physically located outside the state. Not recommended for commuters.
