RNG-based online casinos, with their digital games featuring computer-generated results, have been around for more than two decades. The number of software companies serving this market is incredible. Even in a global market, competition is beyond saturated. One area that’s not overrun by competition, despite more than 15 years of growth, is the live dealer casino market. There is competition, don’t get me wrong, but demand remains high.
With this in mind, I thought it would be worth looking into a new company that launched in 2020. They call themselves Original Spirit. For now, it’s a small studio, featuring just three live table game variants – blackjack, baccarat and roulette. Overall, the company has some major hits and misses we feel potential players should know about.

Original Spirit is an eGaming company operating a live dealer studio that secured its first license with an online casino operator in 2020. We dug deep into the company’s shallow background and came up with the following company info.
The only concern in these results is the lack of a regulatory license. If the company is licensed by any gaming authority, we could find no evidence of it. I’ve contacted the company, but received no response yet. Also, the Terms of Service link on the website did not work when I was conducting my research. I pointed this out in my communications. If the company really does have good intentions, they’ll fix it. |

Let’s take a closer look at the games… Blackjack LiveI have not actually played the games here, for reasons discussed in the last section of this review. From all the details provided in its introductory video, we know that the dealer takes no hole card and stands on soft 17, and that a natural blackjack pays 3:2. We can also discern that the shoe holds either 6 or 8 decks. If we assume standard industry rules beyond that point, we can conclude that the house edge is probably 0.61%. Baccarat LiveThe live baccarat tables offer the standard variety card game, featuring three bets; Player, Banker and Tie. Their shoe appears to hold 8 decks, with no visible side bets on offer. The house edge is 1.24% on Player bets, 1.06% on Banker bets (with 5% commission), and 14.36% on Tie bets. Roulette LiveOriginal Spirit hosts a standard single-zero, European live roulette game, featuring a house edge of 2.7% across all wagers. Auto RouletteAuto roulette features the same rules as their live European roulette, but with no live dealer. The automated games keep the action moving at a much faster pace. |
The studio hosts three live dealer game variants, and one auto-table (no live dealer). According to their website, they have installed high-tech, state-of-the-art equipment throughout the studio, ensuring high-resolution video and crystal clear audio, while “guaranteed 99% uptime”.

The live dealer studio lists its partners as BetConstruct, Parimatch, and Novusbet. BetConstruct and Novusbet are both software companies, which leads us to assume the Original Spirit live tables can be, or eventually will be, included in their portfolios. We weren’t able to confirm that any licensees of these software brands are actually providing them to their customers at this time. Their other partner, Parimatch, is a Russian online gambling website that caters mostly to western European countries. The only other website we found to present Original Spirit live casino games is Crypto Thrills Casino, a Bitcoin gambling site that accepts players from most regions of the world, including the United States. That fact alone raises a red flag – not necessarily for players of Original Spirit games, but for members of Crypto Thrills Casino. Any US-facing iGaming website that is not licensed in the US should be circumspect. Suffice it to say, play at your own risk. |

By their own accounts, Original Spirit certainly seems to be a company with good intentions. Unfortunately, they’re lacking in a few too many areas for my taste. The studio is of high quality, but lack any regulatory license. If the games and dealers are not being monitored, who’s to say they are conducting fair games? I feel like it’s going to take more time for this live dealer studio to get its ducks in a row, and perhaps become the truly transparent operation it claims to be. And to anyone interested in the fact that Original Spirit services a Bitcoin casino, trust me, there are much more reputable crypto casino brands to choose from. |
