There’s a brand new online casino games creator in town, and they’ve just recently begun making a splash in the digital slots industry. They go by the brand name Spearhead Studios. They inked their very first content distribution deal in January 2020, and already have more than 20 games rolled out, and more slated for release this month.
Spearhead’s creators came into this industry with a mindful mission and two-part focus; to develop high-quality HTML5 casino games for the digital market (desktop and mobile), and to build a development platform capable of completing that goal at a record setting pace. All I can say is – so far, so good!
Game Changing Releases from New Online Slot Creator
A quick visit to the website reveals Spearhead’s conceptual motto: “We are not game makers, we are game changers.” That’s quite a self-imposed reputation to live up to. With less than 12 months in active business, it’s hard to say whether they can or not, but they are making a solid effort.
Spearhead Studios introduced itself to the market with a small but unique portfolio of games that caught the attention of their first partner in January of 2020. That resulted in the securing of a major contract with decade-old iGaming giant, Relax Gaming, who’s executive staff lauded them for “quality and creative flair”.
The very next week, the company was making its debut at ICE London 2020, the world’s biggest stage for virtual gaming. Their biggest introduction of the expo was an anthropomorphic eye catcher, Wilds of Wall Street, that takes its theme and characters from retro films of the 1980s and 1990s.
That display earned them another contract with ORYX Gaming in March, and before April was over, Spearhead was teaming up with iGaming juggernaut, Microgaming, the oldest, largest, and most respected company in the industry.
Rolling Out New Spearhead Studio Slots & Games
Spearhead, a subsidiary of EveryMatrix, has been spitting out new games like watermelon seeds in September. They started off the month the launch of Egyptian themed Book of the King Slot on September 2; an extension of their ever-growing ‘Book of” series of online slots (Book of Souls, Book of Souls II: El Dorado, and Book of Gates slots. The very next day, Teutoburg, a 5-reel game that emulates the historic skirmishes between German tribes and the Roman Empire.
Two more games, Fruits & 777’s Slider and Book of Spies: Mission X, are scheduled to roll out on September 20. Fruits & 777’s takes the old-school slot theme to a new level in a 5-reel, 5-line fruit machine with stacking 7’s that pay out 3000x for 5 on a line; a potential payout of 15,000x for a screen full of 7’s. Information hasn’t been revealed for Book of Spies: Mission X, but it’s definitely got a 007 / Mission Impossible vibe to it.
Before the month is out, two more titles should emerge. The first is Empire Awakens: The Rise of Tsar, which looks to be a graphically stunning amalgamation of Star Wars, Marvel’s heroes of Asgard, and the latest Tansformers. Next is a well-deserved sequel to the game that gained Spearhead Studios fame in the first place – Wilds of Wall Street II.
There may only be 26 titles in their portfolio right now, but there are – as the company intended – game changers in the iGaming market. I have no doubt we can expect many more fantastic things from this new online slot creator in the years to come.
