Funky Spin Slot, the First Progressive from Realistic Games

Realistic Games launches first progressive jackpot slot machine.

Funky Spin Slot, the First Progressive from Realistic Games

There are so many independent and contractual software labs producing digital gambling games content these days; far more than I’d like to count. One thing 99.9% of them have in common is their centrifugal focus on slot machines. In fact, I can only think of one company that (so far) only produces digital table games, and that’s Microgmaing‘s exclusive content partner, Switch Studios.

The point I’m trying to get at is that slots dominate the iGaming industry, just as they do the land-based gambling scene. Tens of thousands of them have been released over the last two decades. But in all that time, only the biggest companies have published the types of slot machines that can pay out a life-altering amount of money. You know the ones… progressives.

A progressive slot machine is one that carries a steadily climbing jackpot prize. Where most games might have a max payout, or jackpot, of $1,000, $5,000, or $10,000, progressive jackpot games are almost always unlimited in their value. The jackpot climbs with every bet placed until it’s finally won by some lucky player, now capable of buying a new car, a house, or even a private plane and yacht!

Most digital games companies don’t make progressive slot machines because they don’t have enough players to build those jackpots to something people will flock to in a reasonable amount of time. Microgaming’s Mega Moolah averages a growth rate of $5 million every 9 weeks. That’s impressive! Smaller companies can’t possibly expect to see similar results. But we can’t fault them for trying something new…

Realistic Games’ First Progressive Jackpot Slot

Realistic Games Launches its First Progressive Jackpot Slot Machine Funky Spin

Realistic Games may not carry the reputation of Microgaming, but it’s certainly no newbie to the iGaming arena. The company was founded in 2002, and since breaking away from third-party publications in 2011, has released more than 80 games on its independent ReGal platform.

On July 11, 2019, Realistic Games took the progressive plunge, launching it’s very first exponential-growth jackpot game. They call it the Funky Spin Slot, and it’s got a psychedelic hippy theme that’ll send you back in time to the 1970s – or at least to the turn of the millennium, via That 70s Show.

Funky Spin is a 3-reel slot machine with a 95.8% RTP, which is relatively high for a progressive game. Built in HTML5, it is compatible with all major desktop, mobile and tablet devices running Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari browsers. It won’t be making any millionaires, but it’s got some unique qualities I think a lot of players will appreciate.

Funky Spin Slot Review

Funky Spin Jackpot Wheel Game

Funky Spin is a thematically traditional fruit machine, depicting things like grapes, cherries and bells across a 5×3 grid with 5 paylines. The main feature of the game is the Jackpot Wheel, triggered by landing three Funky Spin logos on a payline.

The first wheel has an assortment of multipliers and a POT segment. Land on the POT section to progress to the second, jackpot wheel. This wheel contains only three segments, representing each of the Bronze, Silver and Gold jackpots, thereby guaranteeing one of them will be released.

The max payout in the base game is 250x the line bet. The max multiplier on the prize wheel is 50x the total bet (equal to 250x the line bet). As for jackpots, the minimum prize for each is the seed amount of $25 for Bronze, $50 for Silver, and $125 for Gold. Of course, these prizes are constantly growing until their struck, so their actual value is interminable.

Realistic’s first progressive jackpot slot doesn’t feature life-altering jackpots – not like Microgaming’s Mega Moolah – but it’s a good start for the ReGal platform, and one that a lot of players can appreciate. The RTP is comparably high and the medium volatility, combined with relatively low jackpots, ensures they strike on a very regular basis.
