Since the dawn of the online gambling industry, Microgaming has been at the forefront. They were the pioneers of the first online casino, the first digital games, first mobile-compatible games, and more. For over two decades, Microgaming has been the world’s leading developer of innovative online slot machines for every platform imaginable.
Today’s games are much more immersive, though. They have unique features, incredible 3D graphics and cinematic animations that take longer to create than the games of old. So, in order to maintain their decades-old status of releasing 2+ new games very month—without sacrificing quality, of course—they’ve been contracting independent digital slots creators.
According to a news release, the latest company to join the now-vast Microgaming team of partners is Fortune Factory Studios. That name might not ring a bell, but they’ve been working with Microgaming longer than you might think. Fortune Factory was responsible for last year’s release of Microgaming’s Christmas-themed Holly Jolly Penguins Slot.
Now, the digital casino games studio will be working exclusively for Microgaming, and they’re already priming for their first official release under the new contract. Due for launch later this month is Romanov Riches, a 5×3 reel, 15-line slot with respins, mystery stacks and prize wheel features.
“Our game design philosophy stems from our belief that marrying exciting and intuitive gambling mechanics with appealing characters, themes and purpose-designed orchestration creates the ideal gaming experiences for players,” says Phelan Sykes, Head of Game Production for Fortune Factory Studios. “We are delighted to bring our ‘product with personality’ to Microgaming on an exclusive basis.”
“Our studios model was established to bring greater diversity and innovation to the market,” comments Microgaming CEO John Coleman. “The talented team at Fortune Factory have years of land-based and traditional video gaming experience behind them, ensuring they are in a strong position to deliver exciting game features and mechanics exclusively for Microgaming customers.”
Renewed Success Via Exclusive Digital Slots Creators
This method has been working extremely well for Microgaming. Last year, the Halloween Online Slot, based on the original 1978 John Carpenter horror film (and arguably the most frightfully entertaining online slot machine ever built!), wowed member of Microgaming casinos. But it wasn’t Microgaming’s crew that did the handy work. It was one of their exclusive partners, Triple Edge Studios, who was also responsible for the Playboy Gold Slot; the firm’s very first creation for Microgaming.
Their more recently announced addition of Slingshot Studios to the exclusivity portfolio was also a phenomenal success. Slingshot is the online slot maker responsible for Cash of Kingdoms. After going live just this week, that game has already been an enormous success. Its demo-debut was the focal point of the Microgaming Bar at ICE Totally Gaming in February.
No doubt, the addition of Fortune Factory Studios will be another check in the win column for Microgaming; not to mention the countless players of their online casino games. We’ll get a taste of the new Romanov Riches Slot on October 24, 2018. Fortune Factory is also preparing to launch its second title under the exclusivity contract, Showdown Saloon. No word yet on when that new digital slots creation will go live.
