Euchre Clubs in B.C. Canada

List of Lower Mainland B.C. Canada Euchre clubs.

Euchre is one of those card games that’s spent centuries being handed down from generation to generation. It’s incredibly popular in Great Britain, where it originated, but also commands a strong following throughout much of Canada.

Here in British Columbia, there are several concentrations of Euchre groups who gather regularly just to enjoy the time-honored tradition of card gaming. If you happen to live in or near enough BC, Canada, you’ may want to consider stopping in at one of the great Euchre Clubs in the region for a weekly or monthly tournament.

BC Canada Euchre Clubs

There are four Euchre clubs in Lower Mainland BC, Canada; all part of the Let’s Play Euchre community. Each town’s club meets weekly for a social tourney, then once per month, the entire Lower Mainland club group gathers for a big tournament in Cloverdale. There’s no membership required – all are welcome!

Since all four clubs are located within 60km of one another, I’ve decided to list the clubs in alphabetical order. You’ll find information pertaining to each club’s location, contact info, and meeting / tournament times and dates.

Abbotsford Euchre Club – Abbotsford, B.C.

The Abbotsford Euchre Club meets every Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the Abbotsford Senior Centre (ARC) at 2499 McMillan Road for 8, 12-hand games of Euchre. There is free coffee and snacks for all players, and a standard $10.00 entry fee to join in the action. Payouts depend on the number of players, with approximately the top 25% finishing in the money.

Participants can also avoid the $10.00 entry by bringing their dimes! Those who don’t pay up front will instead pay into the Dime Pot; paying up a dime whenever they get Euchred, or an opponent makes a loner. The dime pot is split at the end of the night and a special drawing held for all of the evenings non-winners.

Aldergrove Euchre Club – Aldergrove, B.C.

The Aldergrove Euchre Club gets together each Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Aldergrove Legion, located at 26607 Fraser Highway. They host a small, 7-game tournament with a $5 entry fee per player.

Burnaby Euchre Club – Burnaby, B.C.

The Burnaby Euchre Club communes every Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Burnaby Legion at 5289 Grimmer St, where the Kingsway connects to Royal Oak. The Burnaby tournament is another small one, costing just $5 to enter.

Cloverdale Euchre Bluc – Clvoerdale, B.C.

The Cloverdale Euchre Club also meets up every Thursday. Their weekly tournament kicks off at 7:00 p.m. at the Cloverdale Legion BR # 6, located at 17567 57th Ave. Players look forward to a 7-game tourney with a low entry fee of just $5.

Lower Mainland Monthly Tournament – Cloverdale, B.C.

Each month, the Cloverdale Legion BR #6 at 17567 57th Ave in Cloverdale, B.C. hosts the communities largest Euchre tournament. All the clubs unite into one Lower Mainland Euchre Club, where 10, 12-hand games are played. This tournament features the largest buy-in of $15 per player. The entry fee includes eligibility in the Bonus Draw and Perfect Lone Hand Pool.

The monthly tournament is always held on a Saturday right about 12 o’clock noon. All are welcome, and strongly encouraged to bring their dimes! See the Current Tournament Schedule for upcoming dates.
