Yggdrasil launches Steampunk Slot Machine, Cazino Cosmos

Yggdrasil goes ‘full steampunk ahead’ with new Cazino Cosmos Slot.

The superior design crew at Yggdrasil Gaming has been very busy lately. When we think of the steampunk slots theme, the first to come to mind is usually Microgaming’s Fortunium Slot. We can attribute this quick recognition to pure marketing genius. Yggdrasil actually launched its steampunk slot—the first we know of—in 2015. If anything, Microgaming took that idea and ran with it, producing Fortunium and debuting it center age at ICE 2018 in London; hence our propensity to recall it first. Perhaps Yggdrasil’s development of a sequel was simply a reminder that they did are the real pioneers of this fantastic, niche motif.

Cazino Cosmos Slot by Yggdrasil

If the original Cazino Zeppelin was a peek into the mechanical underworld of steampunk, this new Cazino Cosmos takes the theme “full steam ahead”; all the way into outer space! Cazino Cosmos is the name of the Universe’s most popular gambling station, attracting the highest rollers in the galaxy.

The game brings with it some of Cazino Zeppelin’s most favorable features, including the Free Spins Sticky Wilds, and tosses it in with even more ways to unleash a big win. Landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters awards 40 coins, plus 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively.

Any wilds that appear on the reels when a free spin phase is triggered will remain in place as Sticky Wilds. Additional wilds that appear during free games also turn sticky, and will award 5+ free games.

Collectible Wilds Free Spins

Collectible Wilds are the most unique feature of the Cazino Cosmos online slot. A collection meter sits above each individual reel. Whenever a Collectible Wild (slightly different from standard wilds) appears on a reel, its meter will fill by 1. When the meter reaches 5, it fills completely, triggering 5 free games.

To make things a bit more interesting, each reel carries its own special free games feature. When the meter above the corresponding reels fill to max, the player receives 5 free spins with the following features:

1st Reel, Card Shot: 2 Sticky Wilds are added to the reels in random locations before the start of free games.

2nd Reel, Hack: The lovely steampunk gal hacks the reels, uploading an extra 5 free spins to the feature.

3rd Reel, Zero Gravity: If a wild almost stops on any reel, it will nudge up or down to move it into view. The wild becomes sticky, and awards an extra 5 spins.

4th Reel, Mutation: One high-paying symbol is chosen at random per spin. All occurrences of that symbol will become wild for that spin.

5th Reel, Expansion: All wilds appear in double-stacks during this free spins feature.
